Societe Generale-Forge announces the nomination of Alexandre Barrat as Chief Compliance Officer.
Societe Generale-Forge announces today that it has nominated Alexandre Barrat as Chief Compliance Officer. His appointment will help SG-Forge consolidate its compliance function for its activities on security tokens and other digital assets as licensed service provider and complete its control system for the new activity projects.
Prior to joining SG-Forge, Alexandre Barrat worked for 11 years at the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, the French regulator of financial instruments and crypto-assets markets. He worked 6 years as an inspector leading/participating in on-site inspections of investment services providers on market, post-trade and sales activities. Then he joined and co-led as deputy director for 4 years the AMF’s Fintech, Innovation and Competitiveness division, in charge of accompanying fintechs and thinking about potential evolution of the regulation framework in the context of innovation. He contributed inter alia to the conception of a legal and regulatory framework for crypto-assets, first at French level (“Pacte” law and regulation, “Blockchain Order” for security tokens) and then at European level (“Pilot Regime for market infrastructures based on DLT” and “Markets in Crypto-Assets” regulations).
Aged 36, Alexandre Barrat is alumnus of Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon, he holds a bachelor and a master’s degree in mathematics, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and an engineer’s degree in statistics, economy and finance (ENSAE ParisTech). He holds a professional certification in cryptography about the blockchains Bitcoin and Ethereum (Eureka Certification).
